The Nance Family Foundation is a Colorado-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to improving the lives of people, protecting animals, and preserving the environment through compassionate community programs and sustainable solutions. Our mission is to ensure that individuals and families have access to essential resources, meaningful opportunities, and the support they need to build healthier, more independent futures.
Elevated Upcycle Thrift is the Foundation's social enterprise, transforming donated clothing and household goods into affordable shopping opportunities while funding life-changing community programs. Every donation, purchase, and volunteer hour directly supports our mission to serve people, animals, and the planet. Our programs include free and affordable clothing for children, families, veterans, and individuals experiencing financial hardship through clothing and household goods distribution drives. We collect, sort, and redistribute donated items to reduce waste while ensuring basic necessities reach those who need them most.
We proudly support military veterans through programs designed to ease the transition back into civilian life. Services include trauma recovery support, peer connections, housing and employment assistance, budgeting and financial literacy education, pet care assistance, and the placement of trained service dogs for veterans and individuals with disabilities.
Animal welfare is a cornerstone of our mission. We provide animal rescue services, foster care for homeless animals, no-kill dog, cat, and livestock adoption opportunities, animal boarding and care, general dog training, and specialized service dog training. Through these efforts, we help both animals and people by creating lifelong partnerships between trained service dogs and those who rely on them for greater independence. Environmental stewardship is woven into everything we do. Through Elevated Upcycle Thrift, we divert usable clothing, furniture, and household goods from landfills by promoting reuse, upcycling, recycling, and creative repurposing. Our sustainability initiatives also include community clean-up projects that encourage environmental responsibility while creating cleaner, healthier neighborhoods.
The Foundation is equally committed to investing in the next generation through education and career development programs for children, teens, and young adults. We provide life skills training, financial literacy education, study strategies, résumé development, career exploration, college application guidance, and workforce readiness support to help young people achieve lasting success.
Community involvement is at the heart of everything we do. We welcome volunteers, donors, businesses, and community partners to join us in creating positive change. Whether someone shops at Elevated Upcycle Thrift, donates gently used items, volunteers their time, sponsors a service dog, participates in community clean-up events, or supports our outreach programs, every contribution helps strengthen our communities while protecting animals and reducing environmental waste.
At The Nance Family Foundation, we believe compassion, sustainability, and service can transform lives. Together, we are creating stronger families, healthier communities, brighter futures, and a cleaner planet—one act of kindness at a time.
